FREIGHT RATES AND OPTIONS

We will gladly ship on your carrier or set freight up for you.  We do not surcharge freight rates and ship over 60M lbs. per year.  You will find that the freight rates we can provide are very competitive. 

We can ship any amount you like via many carriers.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT FREIGHT IS NOT ALWAYS ON TIME.  DO NOT SCHEDULE JOBS BASED ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT THE MATERIAL WILL LAND ON A SPECIFIC DAY.  TRUCKS HAVE FLAT TIRES, ENCOUNTER TRAFFIC JAMS, AND ARE OFTEN INDEPENDENTS THAT OPERATE ON THEIR OWN SCHEDULES.

The lowest priced freight will always be full truckload quantities.  There are 22 skids of 63 bags each on a truckload; 1386 bags total.  Each skid weighs approximately 2000-2100 lbs.  Commercial carriers will not help unload and a forklift is necessary to unload.
 

We can ship on a flatbed anywhere in the U.S.  If you are located over 1000 miles from us a "van" or enclosed trailer is usually $300+ less than a flatbed but you need a pallet jack to move the skids to the back of the truck.  Pallet jacks are generally available to rent and only cost $300 +or- and will pay for themselves with one use.

We can also ship via rail and although the shipping time is a few days longer the rate is often very attractive if you are over 1000 miles from us.

For smaller quantities we have two options:

If you order half a truck (11 skids) we can usually match your load with someone else's....this does take some time to work out...figure 7 business days to accomodate.

We can ship individual skids (1-10) via an LTL carrier.  A single pallet is the highest per unit cost you will pay.  If you place an order by 12:00 we usually have your order out that day by 4:00 from our Florida plant;  PA has trucks in every 48 hours.  We load every day this way around 4:00 and most shipments take 2-3 days to arrive.  These can be shipped to your place of business or to a terminal near you for pickup.  Liftgate and or residential service is available with a surcharge.

WE HAVE OUTSTANDING VALUES FOR 4-6 PALLET SHIPMENTS.  OFTEN ORDERING A FIFTH PALLET WILL REDUCE YOUR COSTS TO NEARLY EQUATE TO A FREE PALLET OF MULCH.

BULK MATERIAL

We can ship 63 yards of material on a walking floor or frameless dump.  These trailers are specialized and will cost more per mile than vans or flatbeds.  We can split the load with two colors on a walking floor with very little mixing in transit of the two colors.  These can be landed at jobsites or your location.  If you are over 1000 miles the freight costs will usually take the bulk savings out of the equation.  Most markets in their first and second year will do better with bagged material!  Once your market is established we recommend offering the most popular color in your area in bulk.
